Time for a fluff post....

Here are a few of my favorite things recently. My heart skips a beat every time I pass that Urban Nomad display at Target. You know which one I'm talking about. They have these plates, and these cups. I WANT them....And I think I found a way to get them. Each time I do a chore around the house that I don't want to do...i.e. clean under the fridge, clean the garage. I go to Target and buy me a plate or cup. Good idea, huh!

Speaking of Target, I've been eyeing these dishes FOREVER...

Then, I've found these delicious things at Albertsons. They're expensive, but much better than the donuts I wanted to pick up that day!

Albertsons also has this yummy drink in their yogurt section. It's good for you, all natural, reasonably priced, and we love the Raspberry flavor:

And next time you're down the candy aisle, look for these little gourmet bars, they are a grownup treat for sure, and they definitely melt in your mouth. The mint is my favorite, but that orange one is like those orange balls we get at Christmas, but 10x better.

Hair.....I love the look of flowers in hair, but I never do it because it feels too girly or dressed up. Someone should challenge me to go a week wearing one in my hair, lol! Maybe if you gave me some Target dishes, I'd do it :)

And for the finale, I saw a SUV in this brown metallic color the other day, and LOVED it! I asked Ken why they don't make many of those, and he laughed. Because no one likes brown. But I do! It's so much better than all those tan colors, in my opinion. So, here's to my future car:

They're all gone!!!

I just saw my daughters out the door...their first day of school...

It's been a REALLY hard few weeks, trying to get them all registered in their schools down here. I have 2 kids going to a charter school, and 2 going to the regular public school. See, the schools didn't open until August for me to even do anything. Then, dealing with all the paperwork at 2 different schools, uniform shopping, school clothes shopping, supply shopping, 2 different Back to School nights and 3 different 1st day of schools. Oh yeah, and remember I wanted to go back to school too! So, I've been trying to get myself registered in time too!

Keilani had her first day Monday and had to wear her full dress uniform, she totally loves it! NOT! Oh well, this was her choice, lol!

Then, let me tell you about Kalel and Kindergarten:

His first day was yesterday, I thought the carpool was picking him up, but I misunderstood, and she thought we'd both want to take our own kids to school that day. Anyways, so I'm rushing to get the last minute things done. I'm supposed to do a tracing of my hand, and write a note inside the hand to him. I didn't have time to do that before (hmmmm, maybe because I worked until 4 am the night before, and then back up again at 9 am to work). I realize I forgot to fill out his pink sheet with all the info, and I' m worried that she's going to be here any minute, and I still needed to take a picture of him too! Ken's gone, so I'm trying to do this all myself.

So, she doesn't come....he's now late for his first day of Kindergarten! I rush into the car to take him, now keep in mind, I've already had a taxing week (make it month), and the tears start to form as I am driving to drop him off. I was just completely drained. I kept myself together while I dropped him off..then I gave myself permission to cry. But, I didn't, I started driving aimlessly around, willing myself not to break down again. I still needed to go to the girls school to get their school lunches taken care of, then Ken had to go get one more uniform skirt for Keilani, and I still had to take the girls shopping for their back to school outfits.

Here's what they chose:

Really glad that tomorrow is Friday! This week has been one of the most trying times for our relationship as Ken had to focus on work, and I got to do everything else, which I feel, I didn't handle too well alone. (The house has been a mess for a week, and I just never got caught up) Thankfully we can plan better in the future, the juggling of household responsibilities so I don't end up close to a nervous breakdown again. At least all that back to school shopping is done!

Ah, poor Zane, left all alone with me, time to potty train him, lol!

Wishing I were somehow here again..

Well, one fun thing this summer was I got to go to Connecticut to help this family move:

My brother and his wife...I had to fly out with my parents to get them on the flights....

I got to take my parents here for their first time , to NYC to see the Statue of Liberty:

And even better, this time I got to go here:

To Ellis Island! I didn't do that last time i was there.

Where one of the first things I saw was this trunk:

Which I WANT for myself, isn't that pattern gorgeous?
They had a display of all the luggage people used back then...and pictures like this, of those that just carried their belongings:

They had cool displays like this one:

and interactive exhibits like this one:

This is a map of all the Polynesians in the country according to Census records, you can put in any ethnicity, and the map will pull up the numbers, pretty cool!

And their upstairs photo gallery was one of my FAVORITE parts......

I loved the picture of this girl, sort of reminds me of myself with those eyes....

I loved hearing the stories of WHY these people chose to come to America:

what they wore:

and what they brought with them:

My favorite view through a window of NYC

But we really came for Connecticut, land of the beaches!

I love that when you come here, you run into random things like people fishing:

And car shows, AT THE BEACH! LOL!

And it was all worth it for this ONE picture!

Now, if only I could just go back again! But with back to school stuff happening, it's not going to happen, maybe October...... :)

Good thing school starts soon...

Because lately, when we couldn't find the kids, we'd walk into our office and find this:

Yep, we have all our computers in one room, and the kids LOVE to find an open computer, plop themselves down, and just play! It's getting old. I don't know how many times I have to say GET OFF the COMPUTERS. And putting a password on the tv downstairs has only made it worse because they'll sneak into MY room, close the door and watch Disney channel on my tv. That's sacrilege, I tell you, I cannot have Disney Channel on in my room, lol!

And then, when we don't let them watch tv or play on the computer, they do things like this:

Try your wedding dress on and take pictures, even though you told them, "No, they cannot get into your wedding dress" Hello, taking pictures of the incriminating evidence!!! DUH!

Or if you're Vivian, you'll try anything on.....

and I mean....ANYTHING! We thought she looked like a member of the Taliban in this one:

There, this one's better Vivian! !

Apparently, they like to do photo shoots with my camera. I wouldn't let them touch it a few years ago, now Im like, whatever...I need a new camera anyways....

And if you're Zane, the kitchen is more your playground....He knows how to cut up bananas, but EWWW, no plate! To the garbage it goes ...

And, that's about how boring our summer has been, lol!

Timp Cave and our Anniversary

July....anniversary month for half the world I think!

This year was our 14th....can't wait for the 15th, we'll have to do something amazing!

But this year, we were going to go to San Diego. You know you work for Jetblue when you decide you can go to San Diego anytime (except now they've canceled the SLC-SAN route in October, dang it!), but you haven't hiked Timp Caves in your own backyard since...well, when you were a kid!

So, here we go!

Dude, it killed me. I'll admit it, a swear word came out of my mouth the first 10 seconds of that hill. I heard it was straight up from the beginning, and that's when I knew I was in trouble. I couldn't get my heart to stop fluttering. That was the biggest issue. Poor Ken, had to chill out and go slow with me, when really, all he wanted to do was run up to the top as fast as he could.

Here I am on our first stop...sigh....face is already red!

And Ken, pondering the next few hours, lol!

Ken did the Superman pose, I tried to take a pic, he said it was cheesy, I said, I don't care, do it again. So he did....lol!

We're inside!

Loved the trees along the route, their roots in a rocky foundation:

And, we're done! Yeah, I always knew I'd make it! or we'd make it!
