My Playlist and Mojitos!
Have you noticed, I changed the top song on my playlist? I never watch commercials, and the other day when I saw the Bacardi Mojito commercial, I had to laugh out loud. It was so clever. If you haven't seen it, there's a bunch of people dancing in a club, while the bartender is making a mojito. When he stops, all the dancing stops, and when he starts again, everyone dances again. I guess I just really love catchy beats. So I thought of what other commercials I love, and there's that Coke one with the girl on rollerblades...so there's your next song, Starry Eyed Surprise, so scroll down and listen to that one next, there's only so much of the Mojito song one can take! I'll switch them around next time I post to save everyone's ears, LOL! I also added a few old favorites, like Rapper's Delight, and a few new favorites like Jason Mraz. Then, the other day I was in the mood for some Hawaiian music. Since I can't be in Hawaii, what better than to listen to what they are actually listening to on the radio over there, and I added a few of those songs to my playlist as well. Only 8 more songs left on my playlist, better be picky now!

Mom, update your blog!
Sheesh, my kids don't let me go a week now without telling me to update my blog, LOL! So, what's been happening...Ken just flew out to see his family last weekend, thanks to the wonderful job I have at Jet Blue. In Utah we celebrated Pioneer Day on the 24th of July. Instead of doing the usual parade and fireworks that we normally do, my sister had the great idea to campout like the pioneers do, and go on a hike that same day. So here are some pictures of our kids camping out Mataoa style, on my parents huge deck and then on our hike!!!

If you look carefully you can see Ken there in the left hand corner, splashing the kids with the river water under the bridge:

Memory "Tag"
Melissa posted this on her blog, and of course I had to play along!
Here's what to do:
1.As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember that maybe brings a smile to your face!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It will be fun to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you are playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Red, White........and Black!
So, lately I've been on this red, white and black decorating kick, don't ask me why, it's not even my favorite color combo, my favorite color combo is red and brown. But I guess since the black and white theme has been so popular in today's trends lately, it's been easier to find and make things in those colors instead. So I thought for your viewing pleasure (or at least my own) I would share all the things that are in my family room that are red, white and black....(there's alot)
It all started with this little project I made at Archivers:

Then, these boxes from Ikea..

Then I got these red curtains:

I had these items sitting on storage, which I then got out:

I finished this album for Ken which I have been taking YEARS to get done, and now it's done, it just needs pictures and journaling, LOL!

Let's not forget my crop bag, which I no longer have to hide, because now it matches the room:

I made another project at Archivers recently... again, just needs some photos :)

I bought a tall photo stand and decorated it, again, still needs some photos... see a pattern going on here, I start projects then finish them when I feel inspired to do so...

I'm also in the middle of altering these huge 24x24 canvases..

Of course, my calendar then has to match:

And I went on a layout kick of red, black and white, this was my favorite:

I even made these tiny little notebooks to match my room for a project challenge:

and any bags I buy, of course will need to match the inside of my home:

last but not least, the umbrella I bought at my neighbor's yard sale for 75 cents, because it matched my blog, LOL!

And, also because I happen to like red, white and black too, LOL! :)

From the LGB
Well, as I type now, Ken and the kids are all in SF....Keilani is going to girls camp tomorrow, and I have a messy house to clean for myself. Fun times...but I also have 2 Netflix movies to watch to myself if I manage to get the time between cleaning and work. They are "The Other Boleyn Girl" and "Catch and Release". I'm looking forward to the downtime!
But, on to the title of my post! Well, I never got the chance to post the pictures from our trip to Long Beach. We went to Kens cousin Ruby's wedding. She lived with his family in the Philippines for awhile, and I even met here when I was there. How VERY nice it was to see her find her happiness here.
First off, the girls were flowergirls and bridesmaids. Here they are with their Aunt Marie in front of the limo they got to ride over in with the bride. Ummmhmmmm. I don't even think I've ever been in a limo, lucky girls!!!

and last, my favorite beach picture of Vivian:
